The h4 Community Charter
A transparent, anonymous hub for art, conversation, and genuine connection
Vision & Core Feelings
When someone steps into our space for the first time, we want them to feel safe, open, and non‑judgmental—a place where they can share anything from a doodle to a deep rant about work, the occult, or their latest creative project, and receive honest, thoughtful responses. It’s a social hub where friendships spark, ideas collab, and everyone is welcome as long as they respect our hard‑line boundaries.
Anonymity Meets Transparency
- What we see: IP address, ISP, and coarse geo‑location are visible in real time to help us spot abuse, but they are not logged. A FIFO buffer holds the last ≈ 1,000 connections; once the buffer fills, the oldest entry drops and the ledger starts fresh.
- What we hide: Every post and action runs through a custom scrubber that strips all personally identifiable information before it hits the database. The only “oversight” is the admin (me)—my word is final, but I intervene only when summoned or when I deem it necessary.
- Trust model: You’re placing trust in a system that promises no permanent tracking and active, transparent moderation. I’m committed to earning that trust every day.
Non‑Negotiable Boundaries
| Hard‑line NO | Reason |
|---|---|
| CSAM / MAPs | Illegal and deeply harmful |
| Westboro Baptist‑style hate speech | Targeted harassment |
| General hate speech / harassment | Undermines safety and openness |
| Anything that encourages violence or illegal activity | Legal & ethical duty |
We flag potentially risqué content with warnings, and an AI‑driven image filter catches anything that slips through.
Content Types & Interaction
- Post formats: Article, standard Post, Image, Poll. Each can be replied to, quoted, or directed at a specific user.
- Live feed: A Twitter‑style stream shows the newest posts; a parallel chat lets you talk in real time.
- Future sections: Groups and forum categories will roll out once traffic stabilizes, but the live feed remains the heart of the experience.
- AI companion: My digital clone (h4_ai) is always on standby for quick facts, brainstorming, or just a chat.
Governance & Community‑Led Growth
- Current state: I (the founder/admin) handle backend maintenance and step in only when needed.
- Planned evolution: As the community matures, we’ll elect two moderators/sub‑admins and a council of volunteers who can:
- Facilitate change requests
- Lead projects
- Help onboard newcomers
- Idea meritocracy: No suggestion is “stupid.” All proposals go through open discussion; the best ideas rise through community support and, eventually, loyalty‑based voting.
- Transparency of actions: Moderator decisions (warnings, bans, content removals) are posted in a public log, preserving reporter anonymity while showing that rules are applied consistently.
Technical Foundations
- Encryption: End‑to‑end encryption for private messages; traffic is obfuscated via custom routing and a novel layer I’ve been tinkering with (still experimental, but fun!).
- Open‑source roadmap: Once we have a stable, loyal user base, the full stack will be released under an open‑source license.
- Loyalty system: Active contributors earn points that unlock special badges, profile customizations, and—down the line—weighted influence in moderator polls or “Idea of the Day” highlights.
- Data minimisation: Only the transient FIFO connection ledger is retained; no long‑term storage of IPs, emails, or device fingerprints.
Culture & Rituals
- Weekly rhythms: Themed art challenges, open‑mic “rants & raves” sessions, and a monthly “gratitude board” where members can anonymously thank someone who helped them.
- Feedback loops: Regular “State of the Community” posts share metrics, upcoming tweaks, and open the floor for suggestions.
- Future ambition: If the community outgrows a pure online hub, I envision spinning off a small development studio that builds playful, innovative tools to automate life’s boring tasks—always rooted in the same values of openness and honour.
Getting Started – The System Navigator Guide
“The System Navigator is your friend, use it to get around. If you've closed it, it can be found in the “start menu” in the bottom left hand corner. with the h4os logo.”
- Edit & create your profile – Choose a banner, PFP, and any details you want to share (or leave blank).
- Enter the community – Press the Community button or use the
communitycommand from the start menu. - Read the first two pinned posts – They contain the Code of Conduct and our Zero‑Tolerance policy. Keep it classy, even if we’re degens >_<.
Why This Matters to Me
I once searched for a place where I could rant about the occult, vent about work, share a sketch, and actually get replies—real back‑and‑forth conversation. That search birthed this community: an active, interactive forum where discourse flows freely, creativity is celebrated, and friendships form without the pressure of personal exposure. It's all up to you.
We can only be our best self , after we've gone through our worst self.
Be your best self.
Be your best
